Who was the brand and what was the challenge?

Black Bee Honey is a premium, single-origin honey brand. Rising input costs and a tougher consumer environment meant the business needed to increase prices — without damaging growth, brand trust, or its values-led positioning.

How we answered the brief

We started by getting properly under the skin of the business. This included a detailed review of existing sales and financial data, alongside time spent with the founders to understand how they think about quality, values, and long-term growth.

From there, we conducted a competitive and market review to sense-check where Black Bee truly sits — not just on shelf, but in consumers’ minds. This provided a grounded view of consumer tolerance and where genuine pricing headroom existed.

Using these insights, we built detailed financial scenarios covering price increases, portfolio structure, and promotional mechanics. Each scenario was stress-tested for impact on volume, margin, and brand perception, and iterated collaboratively so the final recommendations felt commercially robust while remaining true to the brand.

The outcome was a clear, practical pricing plan with a roadmap for future reviews, rather than a one-off price rise. We stayed close during implementation to ensure decisions landed well and to support the team as questions arose.
